From Wikipedia:
"Historic Performances Recorded at the Monterey International Pop Festival was a live album released by Reprise Records on August 26, 1970 documenting two memorable performances at the Monterey Pop Festival; those by Otis Redding and The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Reprise was restless for a new album release from one of its hottest stars, but Hendrix had not delivered new material to Reprise in two years. Reprise decided not to wait any longer and released the Monterey album. It was an opportune move because Hendrix died just after the album hit stores. The album hit 15 on the Billboard album chart. It was impressive for an album of material that had sat on the shelf for three years. It also fueled the idea at Reprise and other record companies that old material could be repackaged and sold to Hendrix fans.

Although the Monterey International Pop Festival album was released three years too late, it was no less important. Jimi Hendrix' performance at the Festival was historic and launched him into superstardom. The Monterey International Pop Music Festival took place from June 16 to June 18, 1967 and was the brainchild of Lou Adler. Over 200,000 people attended, and it is often regarded as the precursor to Woodstock. Hendrix took the stage on the final day, June 18, 1967. Brian Jones of The Rolling Stones introduced The Jimi Hendrix Experience."

    * Like a Rolling Stone (Bob Dylan)
    * Rock Me Baby (B.B. King, Joe Josea)

    * I've Been Loving You Too Long (Otis Redding, Jerry Butler)
    * (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction (Mick Jagger, Keith Richards)
    * Try A Little Tenderness (Harry M. Woods, Jimmy Campbell, Reginald Connelly)

This is from the LP, the record, the vinyl. As such, the quality isn't what you'd call "great," I guess(?), but myself, I like it. It definitely sounds like an LP (a record, on vinyl). I should've encoded it better at the time...still sounds good though.

Comments

Really?? Nobody wants this? (it's been up 30 minutes)
The encoding's 192kbps -more than enough to achieve sonic fidelity. So says me.
By "sounds like a record," I mean there's some scratches here and there (you get used to them), but there's no skips or anything too annoying.

Jeez...you people disappoint me. ;)
skipmo can you please put this back up as I'm at 98.7%. Never thought I would find this download. I too have the vinyl album but no way to transfer to digital. Appreciate this being back up
Please put this back up!
